There’s finally a term for it: I’m a multi-hyphenate creative. This explains why I need something creative to do all the time or I start painting the rooms of my house weird colors.

Also, I hate suspension bridges.

Before my stint as Director of Marketing at Smokey Mo’s TX BBQ, I worked as a copywriter/associate creative director at various ad agencies in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Austin. When I entered the glamorous, carefree world of motherhood, I freelanced, threw a plethora of fundraising events and did interior design—all while teaching my kids English, how to walk, use silverware, read, write, drive, compose thank you notes, use caffeine unabashedly during finals and stay out of jail.

These days, I embrace everything Austin’s got. I go to concerts almost weekly through Sonic Guild, cheer on Austin FC (still upset that Fagundez was traded) and the Longhorns, try every new restaurant I can, cook, kayak, lift weights, walk my crazy Austin Pets Alive dog and plan my next trip-to my 27th country.
